The three-ring rule
If your phone rings more than three times before something picks up live, you have already lost most callers.
Caller patience caps at roughly four rings. By ring five most people are deciding which other shop to call. By ring seven they have already dialed. The right configuration: three rings to the human, then immediate AI pickup. Never let it go to voicemail by default.
